One piece so far. Written because nobody else had.

We are not going to publish weekly. Most of what gets written about CRM is a vendor comparison with an affiliate link. When we have something worth reading that nobody else has said, it goes here.

What limits customisation in most CRM platforms

Everyone says their CRM is configurable. Almost nobody explains where configuration stops — and it stops in the same place every time.

You can rename fields, add stages and write automation. You cannot change how the platform thinks about a record.
Every CRM ships an object model — Salesforce has Accounts and Opportunities, HubSpot has Contacts and Deals. Everything you build sits on top of those.
It works until your process needs a relationship the vendor did not anticipate: positions against a merchant, a household across three custodians, a matter rather than a deal.
At that point you start using fields for things they were never named for, and the system stops describing what actually happened.

Being written

Five more, each because the honest version is not online.

No dates. They appear when they are right, which is a slower promise and a truer one.

Why do CRM implementations fail?

Almost never the software. Usually a data model that was chosen before anyone watched the work happen.

The challenges of marketing attribution

Three, in order: the systems disagree about what a conversion is, browser tracking loses events, and the sale closes after the window.

Build versus buy, honestly

Buying usually wins. Here is the arithmetic that decides when it does not — and it is not licence cost against build cost.

What round robin costs you

It assumes every lead, every rep and every workload is equal. Here is what that assumption is worth at volume.

Why your dashboards disagree

Four people, four answers, all defensible. A definition problem wearing a dashboard.

What you will not find here

Four things this page will never do.

01Affiliate linksWe take no commission on any software we recommend, which is what makes a recommendation worth reading.
02Gated downloadsIf something is worth reading, it is worth reading without giving us an email address first.
03Weekly postsA publishing cadence produces content. It does not produce anything worth publishing.
04Listicles of toolsThirty seconds of research each, ranked by who pays most. That page already exists everywhere.
Rather ask directly

The questions we get most are answered on the pages themselves.
